A very good price for this model, one of only four of the HC37 model and the only one on the market.
The 37 model was designed by Al Mason as a prototype for the Christina 33 (41 ft on deck).
Hans Christian is synonymous with blue water sailing, great performance and classic craftsmanship;
The "Christina" series adds modern appearance and sailing performance to the repertoire with a modern underbody.
This model was named cruising boat of the year in 1980 and Shoshin was sold at the San Francisco boat show that same year. Never used for 15 years and then brought down to Rio dulce were she was kept in fresh water since.
Hans Christian pride them selves for being well over built and their ability to weather..
With a pedigree that can be traced to designs inspired by Colin Archer, Hans Christian Yachts, along with a number of other Taiwan built cruisers, brought new meaning to the term “traditional”. They have proven to be reliable ocean cruisers, manageable in big seas by competent, middle-aged couples.
Confusion reigns when attempting to trace the lineage of specific boats because they were built at several different yards in both Taiwan and Thailand, and under the auspices of several business organizations. To make matters more difficult, several designers claim credit for the boats. Most noteworthy among those having fingers in the design pot are Roberr H. Perry, Harwood Ives, Scott Spragne and Tommy Chen, who was a partner in a Taiwanese boat building yard. Prior to the company's move to Thailand, boats were produced at the Shin Fa, Hai O and South Coast Yards in Taiwan.
You will find a wealth of information on these boats at The Hans Christian Owners Association .
