A classic bluewater cruising design from Robert Perry, the little sister to the famed Valiant 40.
Valiant yachts offer something that most other so-called cruising boats still don't have – the ability to sail fast.
The Valiant 32 was designed by Bob Perry as a seaworthy, comfortable go-anywhere boat, easily handed by 2 people. She has a canoe stern and moderate flare at the bow. The underbody features a modified fin keel with external ballast and a skeg-hung rudder.
This powerful combination insured excellent control and tracking on and off the wind. The external, bolted on lead ballast provides a shock-absorbant defense against accidental grounding, while simultaneously allowing for a low stabilizing center of gravity that optimizes performance and safety and the high forward bulwarks and flared bow keep it dry and comfortable.
Below, the accomodations are pleasant, functional and roomy..
Valiants have logged more circumnavigations and more short-handed ocean crossings than any other brand of sailboat ever built, bar none.
The Valiant story began in 1973 when a young Robert Perry accepted the challenge to design a new class of cruising sailboat, one with traditional styling that could be easily sailed by a couple, yet capable of offshore performance normally associated with racing sailboats.
Since all Valiants were designed and built for the real world offshore live-aboard cruising, one of the critical factors for safety is a strong hull, one that will provide maximum strength and impact resistance. To insure each and every Valiant meets this criteria, all Valiant hulls are hand laid fiberglass in a solid matrix of alternating layers of woven roving and mat.
